global engagement: global insights programme 2019

Melbourne & Canberra, Australia: Sunday, 17th - Friday, 22nd February, 2019

Our next global engagement: global insights event will be held in February 2019 in Australia. Building on our recent programmes over the past 4 years this event is also being planned in partnership with the LH Martin Institute at the University of Melbourne and will involve engagement with leaders in Melbourne and Canberra. A copy of the outline  programme and how to register your interest can be found here.

The agenda this coming year combines visits to a diverse range of institutions and discussions with fellow leaders guided by two experienced programme leaders with extensive knowledge of leadership development and policy development in higher education. Whether you are a regular visitor to Australia and already have strong research, teaching or professional links or you are seeking a means of understanding current higher education trends in Australia, you will gain much from the programme.

The 2019 focus is to combine insights into institutional leadership and development with an opportunity to dive deep.

In particular we aim to provide the following:

Benefits

  • To identify relevant ideas and insights to inform developments at your institution;
  • To build a new network of colleagues in these regions of Australia as a springboard for future collaboration;
  • To gain an enhanced appreciation of approaches to institutional and system level leadership, management and governance; and
  • To obtain new data and information to help shape the medium to longer-term direction of higher education in a global context.

Who is the programme for?

The programme is for those in senior leadership positions in HEIs and other agencies, from Chief Executive/Vice Chancellor to members of senior leadership teams and those with senior level academic or professional interests in international higher education. The agenda has been specifically designed to provide an opportunity to combine an intensive experience with the option to tailor other business opportunities in the days leading up to or following the programme – in Australia, in South-east Asia or the Middle East – en route to or from Australia.

The workshop has also been intentionally positioned to take place the week before the Universities Australia annual conference (add link) which also takes place in Canberra.

Places on the programme are limited and therefore we would ask you to reserve a place as soon as possible by contacting Corinne Waring at cwaring@ranmore.co.uk
