Sally Ann is an independent higher education consultant
and Associate of Ranmore. She began her working life
in the food and drink industry before moving into higher education in
1995.
Sally-Ann holds a degree and a PhD from University College Cardiff, a DBA in Higher
Education Management from the University of Bath and a teaching qualification from
Manchester Metropolitan University. She has significant experience as a leader in
times of change in higher education.
For example, she recently led a project that established a very successful, brand new
university campus in Canada. Prior to that, she held senior positions at Canterbury
Christ Church University and the Manchester Metropolitan University in business
interfacing roles. Latterly at Canterbury Christ Church she was Director for their new
Broadstairs Campus.
As a consultant, she has steered high level projects concerned with maximising the
potential that universities offer as catalysts for economic, social and cultural
regeneration. Contracts have included facilitating partner collaboration to develop
several major learning campus developments in South East England, maximising the
leverage on regional government's investments for education led regeneration and
ensuring local businesses are fully engaged to strengthen the relationship with
colleges, universities and local authorities.
She has particular interests in globalisation, management and leadership, strategic
planning and the impact of culture on higher education institutions.
