I help people in the intellect-selling businesses acquire skills beyond those acquired through their professional training.
My particular focus is developing sound business sense, a combination of understanding the variables which impact on the commercial 'envelope' of a business, and the ability to comprehend the financial language used to explain these. I have developed a large suite of software tools which enable specific concerns to be modelled, so that managers can appreciate the impact of change. I also help individuals to understand businesses other than their own, as part of a client relationship or marketing initiative.
I am also passionate about developing communication skills; in writing, presenting and negotiating.
I have worked for Government, large PLCs and a large firm of Chartered Accountants. Since going independent and then forming Ranmore Consulting with Tom, I have worked with many large firms of lawyers, accountants, surveyors, consultants and Higher Education Institutions; working with top teams or at more junior levels.
An MBA from Cranfield Business School compliments my first degree in Economic History. I am a member of the CIPD and CIM.
In any spare time we have, my partner Caroline and 1 play with anything which flies or floats, or walk the dog.
